Question: Should I install Main Drains in my pools?

It depends on the application. Many pools are installed with Main Drains for convenience of lowering water to winterize the pool and assist with water circulation during filtration. Many pools installed with Automatic Cleaners don't have Main Drains. It's simply a Fit and Funciton decision based on the needs and specifications for each specific pool. Two things you need to always do, when installing any point of suction in a Pool, including Main Drains: A) Follow the APSP / ANSI standards to avoid entrapment, which means 2 Drains linked together to avoid entrapment. B) Always use a VGB approved 'anti entrapment' Main Drain Cover.
Question: Will an Automatic Pool Cleaner damage a liner?

It is possible, especially if the cleaner gets 'hung up' in a single spot and works to clean and move itself in a single position for an extended period of time. Most cleaners are designed to avoid damage to the liner but there is always a chance it could happen. We recommend you cover this issue with the manufacturer of the cleaner you sell.
Question: Are Salt Chlorine Generators the best choice for vinyl liner pools?

AS long as you do the following things, Salt Generators are fine for a vinyl liner pool. A) Ground and Bond the pool completely including all Anchor Sockets B) Use non-corrosive Anchor Sockets and Face Plates C) Use an 'in line' Sacrafical Annonde D) Educate your consumer on the proper use of their Salt Generator. Failure to follow these steps can and likely will cause premature corrosion of the metal parts of your pool and the pool surfaces. A viny liner pool is no more susceptable to damage under adverse salt and chlorine conditions than any other type of pool.
Question: What do I do if I have freight damage on a shipment?

If the product is serverely damaged and unusable you should not take delivery of the product and submit a claim with the carrier. If the product is damaged but usable you can clearly mark the Bill of Lading as damaged and make specific notes as to the type and extent of the damage and take a picture of the frieght before accepting it. This will allow for a future claim with the freight carrier if there is hidden damage that is not readily visable. Your Kafko Warehouse Manager or Customer Service Representative can assist you in making freight claims.
Question: Who do I speak with if I have a question about my Monthly Account Statement or an Invoice or Payment?

You can speak with our Accounts Receivable Manager and or your Sales Representative or Branch Manager or Customer Service Representative.
Question: What is the procedure for returning product to Kafko?

If it is freight damage, please refer to that F.A.Q. For new product in the original package or pool liners returned for inspection and/or verification of a defect, please call your Customer Service Representative first. They will issue you a Return Material Authorization number that should be included on all correspondance. Please note that there may be a 15% restocking fee for some products returned for credit. For products that have been installed, read the manufacturer's warranty first as some products have to be returned to an authorized service center and not to Kafko. Your Kafko CSR can provide guidance.
